Successful head coach steps down after 12 seasons

Brandon Lindsey has stepped down as head coach of the Johnson High School girls basketball team.Lindsey, who helped turn the Lady Atom Smashers into a state power, will remain athletic director at the school."I always wanted to leave a program in a better place than when I started," said Lindsey.The Johnson High program is certainly in a better place.Lindsey guided the Atom Smashers to back-to-back GHSA Class AAA state championships in 2018 and 2019.Johnson High won a Region 3-AAA title and advanced to the third round of the state tournament last season.Assistant coach E'Lona Levett will lead Johnson High during the 2021-2022 campaign. She returns a solid group of players, including All-Region and All-Greater Savannah selections in Amani Hamilton and K'Lya Hankerson.
