FITCHBURG, Wis. — Fitchburg’s mayor is running for state office after more than 10 years of working for the city.
Aaron Richardson announced his candidacy for Wisconsin Treasurer on Wednesday. Richardson was elected as mayor in 2019 after serving two years on city council. He worked on the city’s Park Commission for nine years prior to that.
“My experience leading one of the most diverse and fastest-growing communities in Wisconsin will provide the foundation to not only make a difference in the lives of Wisconsin residents but also provide Governor Evers and lawmakers insight into what the communities of Wisconsin need from our leaders,” Richardson said in a statement.
