Norwich residents can dump storm debris free Saturday

Norwich — The city waste transfer station will be open free of charge Saturday to Norwich residents only to dispose of debris damaged by flooding from the remnants of Hurricane Ida on Sept. 2.

The transfer station at 73 Rogers Road will be open regular Saturday hours — 8 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. — free for Norwich residents to dispose of their storm debris.

City Manager John Salomone said at this point, there does not appear to be a lot of debris piled at curbsides to warrant special curbside collections or neighborhood bins, as was suggested during Monday night’s City Council meeting.
