Police noticed two people inside a car, slumped over and unconscious on Friday at about 7 a.m. Also inside the car: their son, just a year old.
The parents overdosed on heroin. They were eventually arrested.
Officer Michael Sheeley of the Fayetteville Police Department held the boy in his arms until a grandparent could arrive.
