11 shell casings found behind Hagerstown building struck by gunfire, no one hurt

The rear of the building at 35 E. Franklin St. in Hagerstown was struck by gunfire Tuesday night, but no one was hurt, according to Hagerstown police Lt. Rebecca Fetchu.

Officers responding to the 9:31 p.m. incident found 11 shell casings behind the building, Fetchu said.

Based on surveillance video, she said investigators believe two shooters and two different vehicles were involved, and they were looking for those vehicles Wednesday.

She said she could not comment further.

"It's an active investigation," Fetchu said.
