An infant is safe after police say a vehicle that the child was in was stolen Wednesday in Rochester.

Police received a report around 2 p.m. of a stolen vehicle with a six-week-old infant in the backseat.

Investigators say the vehicle was located minutes later on Bedford Street.

They say whoever took the vehicle appeared to have fled the scene.

The child was evaluated and was said to be unhurt.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call 911.
