MILFORD — A man arrested in Virginia last month and charged with killing a Milford man in a storage unit is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Milford District Court on a charge of murder, authorities said.

Christopher Tetreault, 28, has been held without bail in Charlottesville, Virginia, since his Aug. 24 arrest.

He was originally arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, but he has now been charged with murder in the death of Paul Weaver, 54, whose body was found on Aug. 17 in a storage unit at 15 Beach St.

According to an affidavit filed in Milford District Court, Weaver was found dead with several stab wounds on Aug 17 in the storage unit where he apparently lived. On Aug. 19, another man who said he lived in the storage facility said Tetreault took a knife from the man’s unit and said he was going to find Weaver.

Investigators at the scene of a storage facility on Beach Street in Milford on Tuesday, after a body was found on Aug. 17, 2021.

“(The witness) stated that Tetreault later returned to (the witness’) unit, described to have a lot of sweat on his face, and stated to (the witness) that he didn’t need to worry about Paul anymore,” according to the affidavit.

The man told police that Tetreault told him he stabbed Weaver in the neck and face, according to the affidavit.

Investigators spoke to Tetreault on the phone on Aug. 20, and Tetreault said he had not been in Milford since March or April. But Verizon confirmed that Tetreault’s cellphone “pinged” in Milford on Aug. 13 and Aug. 14.

It has not been disclosed what Tetreault’s connection was to Virginia or why he went. Court documents did not detail a motive for the stabbing.
