For, against, or indifferent for an expansion to the college football playoff, there was supposed to be a vote on Sept. 28 for a potential 12-team format.
There may still be a vote and/or playoff expansion, although it is not happening next Tuesday.
Bill Hancock, Executive Director of The College Football Playoff, releasing this statement today:
""The College Football Playoff management committee met in Dallas today to discuss the possible expansion of the playoff. As the committee moves forward, there remain issues to be discussed. Given the complexity of these matters, the management committee will meet again in Chicago next week to continue our discussions.
"As we said in June when the 12-team playoff was proposed, that was the first step in a long process. It is vital that all issues be fully explored and addressed."
This meeting is being described as informational only and an expansion proposal is not being voted on next week.
