Man hit by van in Eugene cited by police for stepping into traffic against the light

EUGENE, Ore. - A 68-year-old man taken to the hospital after being hit by a minivan was cited for stepping into traffic againsts the light.

Eugene Police said medics took the man to the hospital for his injuries after the crash Tuesday night just before 9 p.m. on Chambers Street at W. 11th Avenue.
The investigation found a 62=year-old woman was northboudn on Chambers in a Toyota van when she drove across W. 11th.

"She had a green light and was driving through the intersection and was unable to brake in time for a pedestrian crossing the roadway," police said. "He was cited for Failure to Obey a Pedestrian Control Device."
