It’s hard to believe that The Walt Disney Company’s streaming service, Disney+, is about to be two years old. Launching in 2019, Disney+ will be celebrating its anniversary in November by releasing a slew of new entertainment for Disney fans across the world.

As revealed by Disney CEO Bob Chapek, one of those releases will be Marvel Studios’ latest box office smash.

Disney+ has been responsible for bringing the huge portfolio of Disney content directly into viewers’ homes. From the Marvel Cinematic Universe to a galaxy far, far away, animated classics to brand new and exclusive documentaries, Disney+ really has captured the hearts of millions of subscribers.

Disney’s announcement of the two-year anniversary came just earlier this week:

On Friday, November 12, The Walt Disney Company will host Disney+ Day, a global celebration that will come to life across all dimensions of the Company. Subscribers to Disney+ will be treated to new content releases across the service’s iconic brands, Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and Star in international markets, along with a special presentation on Disney+ for fans with sneak peeks into what’s to come. Additionally, the service will continue to engage new audiences around the world, as Disney+ expands into new Asia-Pacific markets on November 12.

When will Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings be on Disney+?

Along with a number of other new releases like the debut of Disney’s Jungle Cruise (2021) without the additional fee of Premier Access, Josh Gad’s new Olaf series, and untitled Special Looks at the future of Star Wars and Marvel, Marvel Studios’ latest box office smash, Shang-Chi will be released on Disney+ on November 12, completely free of any additional costs for subscribers of the streaming platform.

Shang-Chi‘s Disney+ release date will come shortly after the Marvel movie’s exclusive theatrical release in theaters. Debuting on September 3, Shang-Chi broke the Labor Day weekend domestic box office record, with the Master of Kung Fu going on to secure a huge sum over the four-day opening weekend period.

The release of the martial arts adventure film came just weeks after the controversial lawsuit that Black Widow (2021) star, Scarlett Johansson, launched against Disney following the simultaneous release of Black Widow on Disney+ Premier Access and in theaters. This move, Johansson claims, has broken her contract with the House of Mouse in relation to her salary. Black Widow will become free to watch on Disney+ on October 6.
