Prosecutor: Man sentenced to 32 years for child molesting in Dearborn County
A Dearborn County judge has sentenced an Indiana man to 32 years in prison in a child molestation case.According to Dearborn County Prosecuting Attorney Lynn Deddens, Corey Frank, 37, of Fishers, Indiana, met the child on Snapchat and within a day was driving to meet the victim in Harrison, Ohio. He then traveled with her to a hotel in Greendale, Indiana, for purposes of having sex with her.The prosecutor said even though the victim told Frank her age was greater than she actually was, she told him she was 13 before any sex act. Also, Frank continued with his plans regardless of knowing her age.Frank stayed with the child for two days before returning her to Harrison.Deddens used this case as an example to remind the public how dangerous social media can be for children."This case should be terrifying for any parent or member of the public. In the span of 24 hours, this victim met her abuser and was in a hotel room with a 36-year-old man who had also lied to her about his age, being subjected to a terrible life-changing situation that had spun massively out of control," Deddens said.Frank pled guilty to two counts of child molesting on July 13. His plea agreement left a sentencing range between three and 32 years.Frank was sentenced to 32 years with two years suspended to probation on Wednesday. After his release, Frank will be required to register as a sex offender for life.
