Drastically cooler temperatures on tap for Thursday after strong storms move through

PITTSBURGH — Drastically cooler weather will settle over the region Wednesday night and for your Thursday.

Rain showers will persist off and on through the night Wednesday before clearing by dawn. The severe weather threat is over, but what you’ll feel is much cooler weather. The low temperature Wednesday night will be in the mid to low 50s.

Temperatures Thursday night could fall into the upper 40s as clearing skies let the mercury drop. On the flipside, Friday will include plenty of sunshine and will be a great day to get outdoors. Hello Fall!

High temperatures on Thursday are going to struggle to get to 60 degrees. That’s about 10 degrees below average for this time of year. You’ll need a sweater or a light jacket, and you’ll notice the change in the air. You may also want to make sure kids have a jacket at the bus stop Thursday morning, too.

Thursday will feature mainly cloudy skies, but there could be a some breaks in the sunshine later in the day. There will be a breeze so it may feel cooler that the air temperature.
