The Memphis Grizzlies surprised a lot of people with their performance during the 2020-21 NBA season. They earned the eighth seed in the Western Conference, knocking off the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors in the NBA Play-In Tournament.

That matched them up in a first-round series with the Utah Jazz. They were able to win Game 1 in Salt Lake City but lost the next four games to be eliminated.

Coming into the offseason, the Grizzlies had some clear needs for areas to upgrade. They have a stellar defense but need some more players that can create some offense.

The grit-and-grind style of play is alive and well, but they need to score a little more to keep up with the rest of the league.
