Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion Conor McGregor threw one of the worst opening pitches in recent memory as special guest for the Chicago Cubs last Tuesday night (Sept. 21) in “The Windy City” (see it here), taking some of the heat off former “Wild Thing” 50 Cent and his Citi Field screwball.
It appears McGregor is only good at throwing shade (and energy drinks).
Unfortunately for the fans in attendance, McGregor would later return for the seventh inning stretch. The good news is that “Notorious” didn’t drop his cane lunging at another Jake Paul clone. The bad news is that “Mystic Mac” belted out a rendition of Take Me Out to the Ball Game that was just slightly above this Chicago dumpster fire.
For it’s one, two, three strikes you’re deaf, at the old ball game.
McGregor is no stranger to public crooning, having previously assaulted the ears of New Yorkers with his duet opposite late night talk show funnyman Jimmy Fallon. I know it’s all in good fun and to be fair, I can’t pitch or sing any better than McGregor. And hey, at least he’s not rapping his way through a Tim Burton parody.
