A 24-year-old Albany man has been arrested and charged in the death of a man Tuesday night in Camilla.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation alleges that Ta'Cory Jondemaro Jenkins went into a home on Main Street before midnight and confronted a man and a woman.
During the confrontation, the GBI says that Jenkins fired shots shots that struck the man. The man was taken to a local hospital but died as a result of his injuries. The woman was not injured during the incident.
Jenkins then allegedly fled the scene after the shooting and led Mitchell County Sheriff's Deputies on a vehicle chase before being apprehended during a short foot chase in a wooded area.
Georgia Department of Natural Resources officers assisted in searching the area for evidence and say that the firearm used in the shooting was recovered.
Charges against Jenkins are currently pending according to the GBI, but are expected sometime Thursday.
