The Weld County Coroner’s Office has identified the man and woman who died Tuesday night after a crash involving a motorcycle and vehicle.

Michael Scott Sluman, 54, and his daughter, Riley Mae Sluman, 24, both of Evans, died about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday when their motorcycle collided with a pickup on Colorado Boulevard near Pine Cone Avenue in Frederick, according to a coroner’s office news release.

Michael Scott Sluman was operating the motorcycle, and Riley Mae Sluman was a passenger, the release said. Both were ejected from the motorcycle on impact. Riley Mae Sluman was pronounced dead at the scene, and Michael Scott Sluman was pronounced dead at the hospital. Neither victim was wearing a helmet.

The woman who was driving the pickup remained hospitalized as of Wednesday morning.

The investigation into the crash is being led by the Frederick Police Department. The manner and cause of death for both victims will be determined after an autopsy and lab reports, the release said.

Colorado Boulevard between Godding Hollow Boulevard and Pine Cone Avenue was closed after the crash. The road reopened about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Frederick police in a news release Tuesday said the crash was being investigated as a possible alcohol-related incident. Police noted Wednesday that the cause remains under investigation.

The Firestone Police Department and Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District were also on scene to assist at the crash.
