CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cuyahoga County’s 2021 property value reappraisal saw home values jump 16% countywide, with the largest gains generally going to the city of Cleveland and surrounding suburbs.
Appraisals happen every three years, using one of two methods to determine value. The 2021 assessment is based on nearby home sale prices, while 2018′s full appraisal relied upon on-the-ground assessments by a team of appraisers.
Among all Cuyahoga County municipalities this year, Maple Heights’ average home values increased the most, at 29%. Back in 2018, average home values in the inner-ring suburb on Cleveland’s southeast side increased a fraction of that, at 7.2%.
Lakewood saw the second-highest value jumps in 2021, compared to 2018, when it was the municipality with the highest increase.
