Sinéad Campbell-Wallace, Stanislas de Barbeyrac, Julian Prégardien, Francesca Aspromonte Headline Insula Orchestra’s 2021-22 Season

Insula Orchestra has announced its 2021-22 season.

For the purposes of this article, our focus will be on vocal and operatic performances.

First up will be a performance of Bach’s “Christmas Oratorio” with Julian Prégardien, Núria Rial, Samuel Hasselhorn, and Kristina Hammarström. Performances are set to take place in Paris, Budapest, and Aix-en-Provence.

Performance Dates: Dec. 9-14, 2021 

The company is also set to present Händel’s “Dixit Dominus” with such vocal soloists as Lawrence Zazzo, Lea Desandre, and Francesca Aspromonte. The performance will also include excerpts from Händel’s “Rodelinda” and “Ariodante.” Performances will take place at La Seine Musicale and Aix-en-Provence.

Performance Dates: April 14-18, 2022

Next up are presentations of “Fidelio” in Brussels, London, and Paris. The production will star Sinéad Campbell-Wallace, Stanislas de Barbeyrac, Christian Immler, and Hélène Carpentier.

Performance Dates: May 8-18, 2022

“Mozart: A Day in the Life” will feature a wide range of works by the famed composer with such soloists as Florie Valiquette, Antoinette Dennefeld, Mikhail Timoshenko, and pianist Thomas Enhco.

Performance Dates: June 23-25, 2022

The company is also set to release a CD recording of “Lucio Silla” in December 2021.
