Ed Orgeron says LSU is ready for the Air Raid, updates status of 2 key RBs
Ed Orgeron is well aware of what Mississippi State did with its Air Raid offense last year in Tiger Stadium, but more recently, how the Bulldogs deployed it last week in a loss at Memphis.
“That’s their DNA,” Orgeron said Wednesday on the SEC coaches media teleconference. “We’re planning for it. He has a quick release, very accurate, has a good feel for the offense. … They’ve got them a good quarterback. … (Leach) knows how to attack coverages. … He’s a great coach. He has a new quarterback and he’s had a lot of success.”
State last week in a 31-29 loss at Memphis passed for 419 yards, and completed 50-of-67 passes.
Orgeron also updated the status of 2 key running backs, and said Ty Davis-Price would play following a minor injury. He received treatment on Tuesday. As for John Emery, Orgeron said, “he’s been practicing, he’s been ready to go. He’s been working like everybody else. … As soon as they tell us he’s clear, he’s gonna play.”
