2 men accused of assaulting, kidnapping A/C repairman in Clayton County

RIVERDALE, Ga. — Clayton County police said they arrested two men early Monday morning and charged them with assaulting and kidnapping someone who came to fix the air conditioner at their Riverdale home.

Clayton County police said in a Facebook post that they were called to a home on the 100 block of Sharon Drive around 2:50 a.m. to help Riverdale police with Spanish translation.

They said the man got into a fight with the people in the home over some money and that fight led to the victim being beaten with a gun and kidnapped.

During a preliminary interview, officers said the victim had gone to the home with the intent of fixing the home’s air conditioning unit.

Investigators said the victim was put in a truck by the two men in the home with a hood over his head. The truck drove to another location and police said when the truck came to a complete stop, the victim jumped out of the truck and ran behind a nearby home.

Police said the two men found the victim and chased him to a nearby neighborhood. That was when Clayton County police and Riverdale police found them and arrested the suspects.

Police arrested Miguel Angel Ibarra-Oliveras and Gerardo Ibarra-Sandana and charged them.

Ibarra-Oliveras is charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping, battery and driving without a license. Ibarra-Sandana is charged with kidnapping and battery.

Both men are being held at the Clayton County jail.
