Clayton County police said in a Facebook post that they were called to a home on the 100 block of Sharon Drive around 2:50 a.m. to help Riverdale police with Spanish translation.
They said the man got into a fight with the people in the home over some money and that fight led to the victim being beaten with a gun and kidnapped.
During a preliminary interview, officers said the victim had gone to the home with the intent of fixing the home’s air conditioning unit.
Investigators said the victim was put in a truck by the two men in the home with a hood over his head. The truck drove to another location and police said when the truck came to a complete stop, the victim jumped out of the truck and ran behind a nearby home.
