CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Cavs will soon be getting ready for the 2021-22 season, and with a revamped roster, the squad is inviting fans to attend an upcoming intrasquad scrimmage.

  • Quicken Loans Arena will host the Cavs’ Wine & Gold Scrimmage Oct. 2

  • The event will be the first opportunity to see a number of new Cavs in Cleveland uniforms

  • The Cavs open the NBA regular season Oct. 20 at Memphis

Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse will host the Wine & Gold Scrimmage on Oct. 2 at 1 p.m. Tickets are available for free on Cavs.com. There is a limit of six tickets per transaction. 

The Cavs will include many gameday elements in the scrimmage, including the lights-out player introductions and performances from the Cavs PowerHouse Dance Team, the Scream Team hip-hop troupe and the 216Stix drumline.

The scrimmage will be the first opportunity fans will have to see the Cavs’ offseason additions, which include Evan Mobley, who was the No. 3 overall pick in the NBA Draft, Ricky Rubio and Lauri Markkanen. They will join an established roster that includes Kevin Love, Collin Sexton, Cedi Osman and Jarrett Allen. 

NBA training camp opens Sept. 28. The Cavs’ first preseason game will be Oct. 5 versus Chicago. Cleveland opens the 2021-22 regular season Oct. 20 against Memphis.
