Glendale PD critical incident briefing on officer-involved shooting
The incident on Sept. 21 began after neighbors called 911 to report hearing gun shots in the area near 60th Ave. and Bethany Home Rd.
GLENDALE, Ariz. - A was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after he was shot by Glendale police officers, officials said.
Police had responded to an area near 71st and Glendale avenues on Sept. 21 after multiple people called 911 to report hearing gunshots. While officers were on the way, another caller told police that their family member was outside of a house with a gun making suicidal statements.
By the time police arrived at the scene, the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Jude Felix, was already gone. He allegedly had fired gunshots next to the home, but no one was injured.

"The suspect texted family members threatening suicide," officials said.
Police officers later found him still armed with a gun in an alley near 60th Avenue and Bethany Home Road. Officials say he attempted to run away after being told to stop.
On the body camera video, you can hear the officer say, "Glendale police, Jude drop the gun. Jude drop the gun, there's nothing that you haven't done that you can't come back from."
While he was running away, police alleged that he had turned to officers while reaching for his waistband.
Two police officers shot him in response, and he was hospitalized in critical condition.
"Officers did locate a weapon near where Felix fell. Jude Felix is facing several charges, which included aggravated assault," said Sgt. Randy Stewart.
No officers were injured.
