Teen seriously injured in rollover crash on I-41 in Winnebago County

FOX CROSSING – Two people were injured Tuesday after a rollover crash in Winnebago County.

Deputies responded around 6:45 p.m. to Interstate 41 south of Highway 10 in the village of Fox Crossing, according to the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s office officials said a vehicle occupied by two minors was going north on I-41 when it crossed several lanes of traffic, hit the median wall and rolled several times.

The driver was thrown from the vehicle and had serious injuries, and a passenger had minor injuries, according to the sheriff’s office. They were taken by Gold Cross Ambulance to a local hospital.

Two lanes of northbound traffic were closed for about three hours for cleanup and investigation.
