UPDATE: Kansas City police have identified the victim in the deadly shooting that occurred overnight.
The victim was identified as Ernest E. Gibson, 63.
Detectives are making headway on identifying a person of interest and hope to have a case presented to prosecutors soon.

Kansas City, Missouri police are investigating a deadly shooting outside a home early Wednesday morning.
Police were called to the area of East 69th St. and Jackson just before 1:00AM.
They found a man shot outside of a home. He was taken to the hospital where he died.
