Marshall County Highway Superintendent Updates Commissioners on Road Program

The Marshall County Highway Department has been busy this year with the completion of 12 miles of triple chip seal and 70 miles of single chip seal.

Highway Superintendent Jason Peters told the Marshall County Commissioners Monday morning that paving began two weeks ago.

Peters commented, “We’ve completed the section on First Road from the Lapaz Town Limits to the west around the curves, completed Miami from Plymouth/Goshen to U.S. 6, and completed Kenilworth from State Road 6 to 3rd.  We started last week on 2B from State Road 331 to County Line and weather permitting we’ll continue on that.”

Workers have been berming roads in the Tomahawk Trail area for the past couple of days due to inclement weather.  It is the hope to treat bad spots with prepared asphalt millings and then seal the road next year.

Work on Community Crossings projects, specifically Sycamore Road from U.S. 6 to 4B, will continue once the weather improves.
