A Taste of Trelawny

A Taste of Trelawny is preparing to open on North Bragg Boulevard in Spring Lake.

The Jamaican restaurant with locations in Fayetteville and Lumberton is opening a third spot in Spring Lake. Reached by phone Friday afternoon, an employee at the Fayetteville location said the restaurant at 1114 N. Bragg Blvd., is expected to open "in the next few weeks."

The building has been the site of several restaurants in recent years, including Stachia's Fully Loaded Grill, which has moved to a new location inside the Southwind Plaza.

Stachia's Fully Loaded Grill

Stachia's Fully Loaded Grill relocated to a new location in the Southwind Plaza in Spring Lake.

Stachia's, which reopened over the weekend, will celebrate its grand opening on Sept. 25. The bar and grill serves a menu that includes hot dogs, burgers, salads, loaded baked potatoes, cheesesteaks and chicken wings, as well as soul food favorites like fried chicken, fried fish, smothered chicken and barbecue.

The restaurant, open seven days a week, is located at 1161 N. Bragg Blvd, next to Compare Foods.

La Vista Italian Restaurant

La Vista Italian Restaurant opened in early August at 1107 North Bragg Boulevard in Spring Lake.

Pizza, pasta and other Italian-American dishes are the focus at La Vista Restaurant, which opened in early August at 1107 N. Bragg Blvd. The menu also has a few Greek touches, like gyros, stuffed grape leaves and baklava, as well as zalabia, a traditional Egyptian dessert of sweet fried dough balls.

Xavier Pena, a server at La Vista, said the lasagna and steak subs are standouts.

"You’re not going to get a better steak sandwich anywhere from here to Philly," he boasted.

The restaurant is open from 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. seven days a week.

Tractor Supply Co.

Not so much for human consumption, but in the world of animal dining news, the Tractor Supply Co. farm supply store currently under construction in Spring Lake will open this winter, a company spokesperson confirmed.

The store at 2230 N. Bragg Blvd. will have around 15,500 square feet of indoor selling space, with a similar amount of outdoor space.

The new store will employ about 15 people.
