The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has been requested by the Pocola Police Department to assist in an investigation after two people were found dead from gunshot wounds at a Pocola apartment complex.
Pocola police responded to a shooting call just after 9 a.m. Tuesday morning and when they arrived, they found 66-year-old Ella Moore and 71-year old Billy Moore dead from gunshots wounds.
The OSBI reports that based on information obtained so far in the investigation, Ella Moore had just returned to her apartment next door to her son when her son heard loud pops and screams.
Her son said he told his wife and child to hide and then he grabbed a gun and went outside, where he found his mother lying shot just inside her apartment.
Ella's son saw Billy Moore going for his weapon, so he shot Billy.
Ella's son administered CPR on her until paramedics arrived. Both Ella and Billy were pronounced dead at the scene.
Ella Moore had received a recent protective order against Billy Moore in May 2021.
No arrests have been made so far, according to the OSBI.
