Montana State University broke ground Tuesday on a new student wellness center.
Sixty-six percent of MSU students voted last year in favor of using student fees to help build a new center.
Students say this new center was needed after a snowstorm collapsed the old fitness gym roofs two years ago, and officials added once completed the health and wellness center will provide students with resources to help with their well-being.
“Today we break ground for a whole new vision, for the future of mental health, student fitness and a new vision for overall student wellness,” MSU president Waded Cruzado said.
The new center will include climbing walls, basketball courts and aquatic spaces.
Construction of the new building is expected to be completed in two years.
