The Mega Millions jackpot for Tuesday’s lottery drawing has jumped to $432 million with a cash option of $312.8 million.
The winning numbers were: 36, 41, 45, 51 and 56. The Mega Ball drawn was 13 with a Megaplier of 3X.
If any ticket wins Tuesday’s Mega Millions jackpot, the prize would be at least the 26th largest in U.S. lottery history.
While no one across the country hit Friday’s $405 million drawing, a second-prize ticket sold at Pat’s Deli in Belleville matched five numbers but not the Mega Ball and is worth $1 million, New Jersey Lottery officials said.
Friday’s winning numbers were: 17, 32, 40, 59 and 61. The Mega Ball drawn was 18 with a Megaplier of 3X.
No one has won the top prize since someone who bought a ticket in Crestwood, Illinois won a $55 million jackpot on June 8.
The odds of buying a jackpot-winning ticket that matches all five numbers and the Mega Ball are 302,575,350 to 1. A $2 ticket gives a player a 1 in 12,607,306 chance of matching five numbers but not the Mega Ball and winning a second-prize of at least $1 million. The odds are 931,001 to 1 of purchasing a $10,000 third-prize ticket matching four numbers and the Mega Ball.
The game is played in 45 states, Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The New Jersey Lottery office in Lawrence is open by appointment only. You can still claim your winnings — provided they’re less than $599.50 — in person at any retailer.
The lottery is also accepting mailed claims, though officials warn payments might be temporarily delayed. Winners are advised to make copies of the claim form and the winning ticket for their records.
