Juanita Maxwell

Juanita Maxwell passed away at home on September 3, 2021 surrounded by her husband, daughters, and granddaughters. Juanita was 82 and a lifelong resident of Waldron, Arkansas.

She is survived by her husband Charles Maxwell; her daughters Tammy Sims and husband Jamie, of Waldron, Pepper Austin and husband Mike, of Waldron, Ginger Stephens and husband Jason, of Pearcy; one step-daughter Karen Ward and husband Mark; 5 granddaughters, Andrea and Ashley Sims, Kelsey and Ashley Austin, Kelli Jo (John) Hall; 5 grandsons, Aaron Sims(Kelsie), Carter Stephens, Willie, Jeff, and Dillon (Andrea) Ward; 12 great grandchildren, Kynslie and Everett, Looper, Kaden, Reece, Mathew, Joseph, Addison, Lilah, and Brooks Ward, Riley and Piper Hall; two sisters Kathy White and husband Doug of Waldron, and Diann Ward of Waldron; one brother Joe Bill Ward of Waldron; one sister-in-law Marion Marie Ward of Waldron; and too many nieces and nephews to name, but she loved them all. She is preceded in death by her parents Carrell and Josie Ward of Waldron; 5 brothers Floyd, Johnnie Ray, Jerrell, George, and Marvin Ward; and one brother-in-law Billy Jack Maxwell.

Juanita was born April 13, 1939 in the Boles area. She and Charles married on March 5, 1966 and shared 55 wonderful years together. She was the best wife, mother, nana, sister, and friend to all. Known for her kindness, she was willing to help others even when plagued with long-term illness. She was a faithful Jehovah’s Witness and enjoyed sharing Bible truths with others.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Christina Metcalf and Laura Kluthe for the extra special care they showed to Juanita; as well as much gratitude to Heart of Hospice for the loving and wonderful care - most notably Shannon Vincent Hattabaugh. Shannon very quickly became a family member in addition to Juanita’s nurse and Juanita, along with her family, loved and appreciated her very much.

She always tried to think of others and their safety, and in keeping with that, a Memorial service will be held via the zoom platform online so as not to have a large gathering in person. Time and date are yet to be determined. If you would like to attend, please contact a family member for the zoom login information.
