Giancarlo Stanton is already famous for hitting the sort of laser, line-drive home run that makes your neck hurt if you try to track it out of the park. We’ve seen it plenty of times before throughout his career. And yet, every time he does it, I forget just how ridiculous it looks. It really doesn’t make any sense.
Watch him send one out at 118.5 MPH.
Stanton hit an absolute ROPE. 😳 pic.twitter.com/oWgirdrGfe

An absolute laser. It’s just unbelievable (and it even got Anthony Rizzo to crack up at the awesomeness), and he truly is one-of-a-kind.
That home run was Stanton’s 31st of the season. It was also the 4th hardest hit home run this year, though it would’ve claimed the top spot last season. Oh, and in case you were wondering, the current exit velocity leader on a HR this year is also Stanton (122.2 MPH), because of course it is.
