The Boston Bruins are going camping once again!

After being sucked into the bizarro world of COVID like the rest of us for the last 17 months, the Boston Bruins will take the next step into their new normal Wednesday as they begin a normal training camp at basically the normal time of year NHL training camps begin. Fully vaccinated but with three players already out with injuries, the Bruins will report to Warrior Arena in Brighton, MA Wednesday morning for physicals. The on-ice sessions of camp will begin on Thursday with the roster (below) divided into two groups yet to be announced.

The 2021-22 Boston Bruins training camp roster will consist of 31 forwards, 20 defensemen, and six goalies. After the Bruins went on a free agent frenzy this past offseason, there will be some new faces to the veteran portion of the camp roster. Joining roster returnees will be forwards Nick Foligno, Tomas Nosek, and Erik Haula; defenseman Derek Forbot and goalie Linus Ullmark, all signed on July 28, the opening day of the 2021 free agent season.

The camp roster for the Boston Bruins also includes some notable recent draft picks such as 2021 first-round pick Fabian Lysell and 2021 third-round pick Brett Harrison and 2017 first-round pick Urho Vaakanainen, who could be looking at his final shot to crack the Bruins’ NHL roster as a regular.

In addition to Ullmark, there will also be some other newcomers between the pipes in camp. Troy Grosenick (two-way deal) and the 24-year-old son of the legendary Martin Brodeur, Jeremy, are part of the camp goalie group.
