UPDATE: Police announce arrest of man who apparently walked out of sporting goods store with rifle

SANDY, Utah (ABC4) – Police have announced the arrest of a man who allegedly walked out of the Scheels sporting goods store, holding a rifle while making no effort to conceal his face to cameras.

The identity of the man was not released at this time.

Sandy Police thanked the public for their assistance.

Police are asking the public for help in identifying a man who allegedly stole a rifle from a Scheels in Sandy.

A photo taken by the store’s security camera shows the man, who made no effort to conceal his face, strolling out of the store, rifle in hand.

“Please help get this gun off the streets,” the Sandy Police Department wrote in a tweet Tuesday afternoon.
