CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A strong thunderstorm is moving toward part of western Montgomery, Stewart and northern Houston counties, which are under a National Weather Service alert until 6:15 p.m.

At 5:25 p.m., Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Big Rock to 9 miles west of Tennessee Ridge. Movement was east at 25 mph.

“The storm could bring winds in excess of 30 mph, and gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building,” the NWS said.

“Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.”
