The Birmingham Police Department is asking for help identifying a person of interest in a hit-and-run investigation.

Just after 2:00 A.M. on September 18, 2021, an unknown black man parked a black Hummer at pump #5 of the Chevron gas station located at 229 Gadsden Highway.

He entered the store and made a purchase. According to the Birmingham Police Department, when he returned to his vehicle to drive away, he hit a pedestrian who was walking in the parking lot, then drove away from the location.

The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
