As previously reported here on eWn, AEW has announced a new partnership with the Owen Hart Foundation. The partnership with the charity will also see AEW launch the annual Owen Hart Cup. It will also see AEW producing and distributing unique and original Owen Hart merchandise.
When speaking on the most recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that the partnership has been in the works for some time. Meltzer stated that discussions between AEW and the foundation have been going on for a “long, long time”.
Meltzer had previously suggested to AEW that they might create a tournament to honor the legacy of the late Brodie Lee. Khan would reply stating, “We have an idea for a tournament”, that tournament would be the now announced Owen Hart Cup.
