Manchester United’s U21’s were in action on Tuesday in their Football League Trophy tie with League Two outfit Bradford City. Neil Wood’s side were underdogs as they made the trip to Bradford but the young Reds were able to take all three points back to Manchester.

An own-goal from Bradford’s Yann Songo’o gave United the lead in the second half and the lead was swiftly doubled by 17-year-old striker Joe Hugill, who scored his first goal of the season.

Hugill has previously been courted by first-team manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the striker was involved in this summer’s pre-season preparations.
