Tribute band Heart by Heart playing at GPAC October 8

Heart by Heart isn't just a tribute band. The band features original Heart alumni and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Steve Fossen and Michael Derosier, who played on the band's biggest hits.

Heart By Heart will perform at Givens Performing Arts Center on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke on Friday, Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale online and at the GPAC Box Office.

"This is just one of the exciting performances we are bringing in to welcome our audiences back after a year-long hiatus," said James Bass, executive director of GPAC. "This will highlight Parent & Family Weekend at UNCP, and we also hope it will be a joyful celebration of music."

Heart By Heart features all of the Heart hits, including "Barracuda," "Straight On," "Crazy On You," "Magic Man," and "Alone." The band has been touring the U.S. since 2014, playing performing arts centers, theaters, casinos, fairs, and festivals.

"Our mission is to perform the classic Heart music as faithfully as we can," said Fossen, Heart's original bassist. "Ann and Nancy Wilson are rock's premiere sisters, and with Heart By Heart, we respect and honor that music we made together."

To date, Heart has sold over 35 million records worldwide, including over 22.5 million in album sales in the U.S. They have had top 10 albums on the Billboard 200. The group was ranked number 57 on VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock."

The return to live performances at GPAC will also include 90s rapper and TV host Vanilla Ice on Oct. 22 and the annual Holiday Extravaganza concert on Dec. 2. The lumBEES: Women of the Dark Water play was canceled.
