A country singer from Kentucky has amazed two of the judges during The Voice's season premiere on Monday.

Kinsey Rose, of Louisville, sang The Chicks' "Cowboy Take Me Away" during her blind audition. Less than 10 seconds into Rose's performance, judge Kelly Clarkson turned her chair around.

Clarkson was so impressed with Rose's vocals that she blocked fellow judge Blake Shelton from adding Rose to his team. Each judge is given one block during the blind auditions.

“That’s because he didn’t like you well enough to hit the button sooner than I did," Clarkson joked after the performance.

Rose celebrated her episode 1 success by showing off her Team Kelly jacket on Instagram. "Was not expecting that!!!! She’s freaking awesome," she wrote.

So just who is Kinsey Rose? The 35-year-old singer currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee, but is originally from Louisville. She graduated from duPont Manual High School and Northern Kentucky University before relocating to Tennessee in 2009 to pursue her dream of being a singer.

She's had some success in recent years. Rose has performed at numerous well known honky-tonks in Nashville and released the album Fair Weather Love, which features country star Vince Gill, the Louisville Courier Journal reported.

Rose continues on to the next round of The Voice, which airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
