New Wisconsin football uniforms for the Shamrock Series game vs. Notre Dame were unveiled and they look so great Badgers fans will love them.

Wisconsin is getting icy early this year. The Badgers football team unveiled the full details of their new alternate “Forward” jerseys on Twitter and they are crisp.

The new jerseys are part of a greater Forward collection meant to celebrate the state of Wisconsin’s history. The word “forward” is central to the helmets and appears throughout the uniforms as a tribute to the state’s motto of the same word.

There are also six stars across the back of each jersey similar to the ones across Camp Randall Memorial Arch, which honors “the 70,000 Wisconsinites who passed through the Union Army’s Civil War training site at Camp Randall from 1861-1865,” according to Wisconsin Football’s Twitter. The Wisconsin Badgers announce special jerseys for the Notre Dame game

The Badgers will wear the all-white uniforms at Soldier Field on Saturday, Sept. 25 for their Shamrock Series game against Notre Dame.

Wisconsin and Notre Dame haven’t met face to face in over 50 years — the last contest between them was in 1964 and ended in a 31-7 win for Notre Dame. The Irish lead the all-time series 8-6-2 over the Badgers, but Wisconsin is favored to come out on top of this one.

Notre Dame will be wearing special Shamrock Series jerseys of their own. The Irish uniforms commemorate Chicago history in a similar fashion.
