A new Clint Eastwood movie was released this past weekend. It’s titled Cry Macho and while it’s not his best film, it is a charming one that I enjoyed watching. I’ve been a fan of Clint Eastwood and his films for a long time and as I watched his latest movie, I couldn’t help but think about how old Eastwood is getting, and how incredible it is that at 91-years-old, he’s still making good films!

Some people might be wondering why he is still making films at 91, and it turns out he has an answer for that. While taking about Cry Macho with The Los Angeles Times, he shared his thoughts on why he keeps making films, saying:

“What the hell am I still working for in my 90s? Are people going to start throwing tomatoes at you? I’ve gotten to the point where I wondered if that was enough, but not to the point where I decided it was. If you roll out a few turkeys, they’ll tell you soon enough.”

Eastwood isn’t showing any signs of slowing down, and I imagine that he’s already got another film project lined up. Nothing has been announced, but the filmmaker seems like he’s going to keep going for as long as he can. As for why he is still acting in front of the camera, he is enjoying the roles he’s taking on at this time in his life. He says:

“I don’t look like I did at 20, so what? That just means there are more interesting guys you can play.”

It’s true, and with films like Gran Torino, The Mule, and Cry Macho, he’s certainly playing some interesting characters. I know that he can’t keep this up forever, but I’m going to enjoy watching the films he makes until he doesn’t make them anymore.
