Country music fans have never seen moves like this from Jimmie Allen! The "Make Me Want To" singer took the first step toward bringing home the coveted Mirror Ball trophy when he danced the tango with partner Emma Slater on the premiere of Dancing With the Stars. Jimmie stars alongside Brian Austin Green, Matt James, Amanda Kloots, Suni Lee, Jojo Siwa, and more on season 30 of the show.
Jimmie and Emma performed to “The Way I Are” by Timbaland, an unconventional choice for the tango! The duo received one of the lowest scores of the night with 22 points, ahead of only Cobra Kai star Martin Kove and his partner, Britt Stewart, but no one was eliminated this week. Jojo, Amanda, and Suni sit atop the leaderboard after the first dance. Len Goodman said of Jimmie's performance, "This dance does not suit your personality. You're a cool sort of a guy. Relax, I'm sure there is a lot more talent in there."
But Jimmie's costars were quick to show their support when the show posted photos of the dance on their Instagram feed. DWTS pro Sasha Farber commented, "Crushed it," dancer Pasha Pashkov said, "Loved it!" and Amanda chimed in: "Wowsers."
His fans jumped in with messages of encouragement too. One fan wrote, "this dance did not deserve 22 it deserved more tbh," and another commented, "Love him. He gonna go far 🔥🔥." One viewer said, "Let’s go🔥🔥👏 jimmy you did Great! Love your personality too♥️😉." One excited fan said, "They could win!!!"
