Tottenham make their second trip of the season to Molineux on Wednesday when they face Wolves in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

Spurs reached the final of this competition last campaign, eventually losing 1-0 to Manchester City, and have endured some form issues in recent weeks.

After three 1-0 wins from three games in the Premier League, Nuno Espirito Santo's side have lost their last two league games 3-0 to Crystal Palace and Chelsea either side of a 2-2 Europa Conference League draw with Rennes.

Here's the side they could field to face Wolves on Wednesday.

Tottenham predicted lineup vs Wolves - Carabao Cup

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Pierluigi Gollini (GK) - While Hugo Lloris has impressed during the early stages of the season, loanee Gollini has featured in the club's three Europa Conference League games and will likely appear in the domestic cup matches too.

Japhet Tanganga (RB) - The young defender served a one game suspension following his red card at Crystal Palace and should come straight back in for Emerson Royal.

Davinson Sanchez (CB) - Tottenham's strongest centre back pairing is still somewhat unknown, with Cristian Romero partnering Eric Dier against Chelsea. Sanchez came on as a substitute and should start from the off against Wolves.

Joe Rodon (CB) - Rodon had a solid Euro 2020 campaign with Wales but, similarly to Gollini, most of his appearances this season will come in the cup competitions. He did manage 78 minutes as a substitute against Palace, though the less said about the performances of Tottenham's players in that game, the better.

Ben Davies (LB) - A more natural rotation option, Davies has often got game time for Spurs in cup ties like this. Firmly second choice to Sergio Reguilon these days and even a strong performance on Wednesday probably won't change that.

2. Midfielders

Oliver Skipp (CM) - Helped Tottenham make an efficient start to the season with their three consecutive 1-0 victories. Dropped to the bench on Sunday as Nuno opted for Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso but should be rotated in here.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (CM) - Spurs fell into the trap of overplaying the Denmark international last season and need to avoid that this time around, even if he is their most important midfielder right now. That being said, he ought to start here.

Harry Winks (CM) - Winks' performances have stalled in the last few years and his role in the Spurs midfield is still unclear. Does he dictate tempo? Does he snap into tackles? Does he press high? Whatever his approach, better performances are needed.

3. Forwards

Son Heung-min (RW) - Returned from injury against Chelsea and looked the most threatening of Tottenham's attackers, though all of that promise dissipated in the second half. With Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura both absent, the South Korean will likely be needed again.

Harry Kane (ST) - With no striking alternative, Kane will feature up front again. He has scored in the Europa Conference League but offered little in the Premier League as of yet, looking particularly blunt against Chelsea.

Bryan Gil (LW) - Spurs fans have enjoyed little bursts from summer signing Gil so far and should get the chance to watch him again on Wednesday. Looking for his first goal for the club.
