Joshua Hall knew exactly what kind of engagement ring Christina Haack wanted.
The HGTV star, 38, confirmed she is engaged to Hall on Monday, just three months after finalizing her divorce from Ant Anstead.
Hall proposed with a rectangular radiant-cut ring featuring a diamond-covered band, which weighs in at 5 carats in total and was created by Haack’s close friend, jeweler Benny Hayoun.
And Hayoun told Page Six Style that Hall came in with a very clear vision for the sparkler.
“He had in his brain all of what he wanted to do,” Hayoun said. “It took me four or five days to make it happen because he insisted on making it by hand, meaning there’s no wax, no computer programming involved.”
To that end, the jeweler started from raw platinum rather than the typical computer rendering and wax cast, which yields technically flawless lines and measurements.
“With the computer, everything is made to perfection,” Hayoun explained, adding that Hall wanted a more sentimental and “real” approach to the ring.
While 5 carats is nothing to sneeze at, Hall said he didn’t want anything too “flashy,” but rather proportional to Haack’s finger. And while Hayoun — who has been friends with Haack for 20 years — describes the “Christina on the Coast” star’s style as “New Age,” “a little bit edgy” and “off the beat,” Hall knew exactly how to nail her every wish.
“She absolutely loved it, and thank God she loved it,” the jeweler said, adding that he thought Haack would come back for a “redo” after the proposal.
“We men think we know exactly what women want, especially with the ring. I was pleasantly surprised, she loved it.”
Page Six exclusively confirmed in July that the couple had “been dating for the last few months” after being spotted together at the airport.
They first sparked engagement speculation last month, when Haack posted a photo with a ring on her left hand; she then deleted the image before reposting it with the ring Photoshopped out.
She was also spotted by paparazzi wearing the sparkler last week, and once again posted and deleted photos of the bling while vacationing with Hall this weekend.
Haack was previously married to her “Flip or Flop” co-star, Tarek El Moussa — with whom she shares 10-year-old daughter Taylor and 6-year-old son Brayden — from 2009 to 2018. She was later married to Anstead, the father of her 2-year-old son, Hudson, from 2018 to 2021.
Anstead, 42, has since moved on with Oscar-winning actress Renée Zellweger, while 40-year-old El Moussa is engaged to “Selling Sunset” star Heather Rae Young — and, interestingly, tapped Hayoun for both the ring and a subsequent upgrade.
