Roseville police are continuing to search for a Detroit man accused of shooting his daughter’s boyfriend in front of her house.

The shooting was the result of an ongoing domestic dispute, which ended with gunfire, according to police Chief Ryan Monroe.

“I don’t think they cared for each other,” Monroe said Tuesday. “I don’t think there was any one event that triggered this, from what I was told.”

The shooting took place Sept. 16 on La Salle Street, a few houses south of 11 Mile Road, in the Interstate 696-Groveland Street section of the city.

A surveillance videotape placed on a house across the street from where the incident took place captures some of the violence.

The tape shows a woman emerging from the house along with at least one man. The woman, believed to be the homeowner, starts to scream unintelligibly, according to the videotape.

As the woman screams “no, no” there is the distinct sound of three gunshots as she starts to cry. A couple comes out to their porch to see what the matter was as a man is seen calmly walking away from the shooting scene and getting into the vehicle, before the tape ends.

Police say the suspect was last seen possibly in a green Ford Expedition in the Outer Drive and Seven Mile Road section of Detroit’s east side.

The victim remained hospitalized Tuesday. His condition has been upgraded from serious to stable condition, according to the police chief.

Monroe said the incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information the alleged suspect is asked to call the Roseville Police Department at 586-775-2100
