MILLVALE — The Millvale Police Department is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the correct identity of the two males that ripped multiple American Flags down and dragged them on the ground damaging the flags, poles and mountings.

Millvale Police Chief Komoroski has also vowed to make two men suspected of ripping down American flags and moving ‘No Parking’ signs “famous by the end of the weekend” if they don’t come forward.

Komoroski said he has been gathering video evidence from multiple homes and businesses from Grant at Butler to North at Klopher.

According to a social media message that Komoroski posted, two men who haven’t been identified yet were caught on camera moving the signs and destroying the flags. He said they also reportedly destroyed the mounting brackets and parts of the buildings where the flags were attached.

“A reminder to the two individuals in the pictures, I have not forgotten what you did and the disrespect that you have shown to our American Flags and to our town. My resolve has only gotten stronger with time passing, time that you both could have come forward and accepted responsibility for the despicable, juvenile acts that you committed! You are both adults and I will make sure that you are held accountable for your actions. Make no mistake about it, we will apply for arrest warrants once you have been identified,” Komorski stated in a social media post.

He said the cost to replace the items, repair the damage and put the signs back “will most likely be in the thousands” of dollars. He urged the men to come forward.

“If you do not you will become famous by the end of this weekend,” the chief wrote.

“It’s horrible and the borough just purchased all new American flags and posts this year,” Komoroski told Channel 11. “It took three days for all the officers to post all the signs and they removed all of those too, ripped them off and threw them on the ground.”

The owner of Superior Signs said while the damage wasn’t astronomical, the fact that incidents like this are happening in a town where he relocated his business is disheartening.
