The inaugural South Georgia State Fair - formerly known as the Coastal Empire Fair - is back on schedule after being canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19.Organizers have announced this year's dates as October 28 through November 7.The 2020 event was canceled about 6 weeks before it was scheduled to begin."Our first and largest responsibility when planning a fair is to the health and safety of all involved," said Joe Gamble, the president of the Exchange Club Fair Association board of directors. "Many vendors and other fairs have canceled fall plans out of an abundance of caution, and we decided that would be the best course of action for us."The fairgrounds are located near I-95 and Highway 204 at 105 Fort Argyle Road, Savannah.
