I was beside myself when I saw the headline today, that the legendary Hip-Hop group The Fugees are gearing up for a reunion world tour. If it is in your means to catch a show, try to do so, because it may never happen again in our lifetimes. The iconic music group will soon celebrate the 25th anniversary of their sophomore album, The Score.

L-Boogie said of going back on the road with her group, "The Fugees have a complex but impactful history." She continued, "I wasn’t even aware the 25th anniversary had arrived until someone brought it to my attention. I decided to honor this significant project, its anniversary, and the fans who appreciated the music by creating a peaceful platform where we could unite, perform the music we loved, and set an example of reconciliation for the world."

Wyclef shared the same sentiment saying, "As I celebrate 25 years with the Fugees, my first memory was that we vowed, from the gate, we would not just do music we would be a movement." He added, "We would be a voice for the unheard, and in these challenging times, I am grateful once again, that God has brought us together."

The 1996 Grammy Award-winning project from Wyclef Jean, Lauryn Hill, and Pras produced 4 massive hits "Fu-Gee-La," "Killing Me Softly," "Ready or Not" and "No Woman, No Cry." Even though The Score was The Fugees' final album, it continues to make music history. As of February 2021, the LP has been certified 7 times platinum, certified Diamond in France, with an estimated 22 million copies sold worldwide. It was only the 2nd rap album to get a Grammy nomination for Best Album of The Year and the first Hip-Hop group to win 2 Grammy Awards for Best Rap Album of The Year and Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group for "Killing Me Softly." Then in June this year, The Score became the 5th most-streamed rap album released in the 90s on Spotify. It is without question, one of the best-selling rap albums of all time.

With all of those accolades, the 25th anniversary of its release deserves an epic celebration. I can't think of anything better than a Fugees reunion and world tour! According to reports from HotNewHipHop, preparations have been in the works for a while, and believe it or not it jumps off tomorrow. That's right. The Fugees are reportedly scheduled to do a pop-up performance in New York, followed by a history-making road trip presented by Hill's Diaspora Calling, and produced by Live Nation. From the looks of things they are still finalizing some venues and dates, but so far stops include Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Newark, Oakland, Washington, France, London, Nigeria, and Ghana. You can bet the group will honor their Haitian ancestor's family and friends by partnering with Global Citizen to provide immediate aid to people of the weather-torn nation.
Below is a look at some of the Fugees: The Score 25th Anniversary Tour dates. Again, there will be changes along the way and some of the venues have not been locked down. Peep the official Live Nation Question marks signify an unconfirmed location. Are you happy to see Wyclef Jean, Lauryn Hill, and Pras reuniting once again?
