Driver charged with OUI after crashing into MSP cruiser

WORCESTER, Mass. — A Worcester woman has been arrested and charged with OUI after crashing her vehicle into a Massachusetts State Police cruiser, injuring a trooper.

The crash was reported just after 10:30 p.m. Monday on Route 290 east in the area of Burncoat Street.

According to state police, the trooper had his emergency lights activated while protecting a disabled motor vehicle in the right lane when Victoria Skelly, 48, drove directly into the back of the cruiser.

In addition to an OUI charge, Skelly was also charged with OUI liquor causing serious injury, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding and a violation of the move over law.

The trooper, who wasn’t identified, suffered a concussion and other upper body injuries. He was released from the hospital Tuesday morning.

Skelly was booked and bailed pending her arraignment in Worcester District Court.
