Cedar Rapids Fire Department was dispatched for a one vehicle crash Monday evening near Highway 30 eastbound and the I-380 southbound ramp.

CRFD were dispatched to the scene at approximately 2:54 p.m. to find one occupant pinned inside the vehicle. The vehicle had left the roadway, was on its side, and was pinned against a large overhead road sign.

Crews utilized rescue struts, chains, webbing straps and winch cable to move and stabilize the vehicle in a position to access with rescue tools. The male passenger was extricated from vehicle, treated on the scene and flown to UI Hospitals with serious injuries.
